My name is Terri Childers, and I am honored to seek your vote as the next Clerk of Superior Court. With over 30 years of experience in the Clerk’s Office and a lifelong connection to Houston County, I am deeply committed to serving our community with integrity and dedication.
I am proud to be the mother of two wonderful sons, Jordan and Jesse. Jordan and his wife Bailee welcomed their son in 2023, making me a Nana – a role I cherish deeply. Jesse serves our country as an army soldier stationed in Texas, and I couldn’t be prouder of him.
Growing up in Houston County, I was immersed in the values of hard work and community. My roots here are strong, with cherished memories of my grandmother’s store, Mildred’s Country Store and our family home nestled nearby. My dad, Al Childers, and my grandfather Albert, known affectionately as “Big Daddy,” were esteemed farmers who instilled in me the importance of service and responsibility. In addition, my parents, Loretta and my dad, ventured into the real estate industry and together they founded Real Estate Unlimited, a testament to their entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to serving our community.
My journey into public service began early, with a brief stint at the Warner Robins Police Department during my senior year at Warner Robins High School in 1991 before finding my calling in the Clerk’s Office. Since joining in 1993, I have diligently served in various roles handling civil, domestic lawsuits and criminal court to overseeing critical administrative functions. With each promotion, I have embraced new challenges and responsibilities, culminating in my current role as Chief Deputy Clerk, where I manage crucial aspects of court operations with precision and care.
As I stand on the brink of this new chapter, I am humbled by the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Carolyn Sullivan, our current Clerk of Superior Court. Her 50 years of dedicated service set a high standard, one that I am prepared to uphold with honor and integrity. With your support, I am confident that my decades of experience and deep-rooted commitment to our community make me the right choice to lead the Clerk’s Office into the future.
